In my last article dated 29^th March, 2020, I explained how Society has its own Horoscope and Mahadasha System, and how Sookshamdasha of Ketu (till end of May 2020) in Mercury-Mercury-Rahu was responsible for current times. But how can a small Sookshamdasha cause such a meaningful impact on the Whole World?  

Let’s assume that our Society is a Train. Mercury is the fastest planet in Management Astrology. In Mercury’s Mahadasha, we are witnessing Mercury’s antardasha. So Mahadasha and Antardasha of the fastest planet resulted in a fast paced Societal Train. Rahu plays an important role in Mercury’s Mahadasha and Antardasha, and I have mentioned it in many previous Blog Posts. As you would be aware, Rahu and Ketu are opposing forces. Rahu in its pratyantardasha is acting like an accelerator to the already fast paced Societal train. Icing on the case is Rahu’s transit in Gemini, which is again Mercury’s sign. So, since the start of Rahu’s transit in Mercury’s sign Gemini (March 2019 onwards), our Societal Train was moving at probably the highest speed in a Speedometer. Then came Ketu’s Sookshamdasha in early 2020. Ketu is an opposing force to Rahu and its impact is sudden and deep. If Rahu was an accelerator to the Societal train, Ketu was the sudden Brake. What happens when Sudden Brakes are applied to an over speeding Bullet train? It causes derailment. And this is what happened to our societal train.

What would be the impact after May 2020, when Ketu’s Sookshamdasha is replaced by Venus’s Sookshamdasha? Typical feature of Ketu is Confusion, and this is what the World is facing since early 2020. This Confusion would end after May 2020, though I am not suggesting that Virus will completely fade away after May. This means that while it may take some time to recover fully from the impact of Corona, we would know how to Live with it. How would your psyche change if you were a part of an over speeding derailed train? Most of us would take time to fully recover from the trauma. Same will be true for the Society. Beginning June 2020, we would see improvements, but it would be a slow rebuilding process. 

As already mentioned by me in my last article, I predict Economic Recession this time and not Economic depression. We may witness Economic depression in 2030’s when Ketu returns in the form of Antardasha in Mercury’s Mahadasha (impact lasting for 15 odd years).

Another typical feature of Ketu is that if it’s overall impact is meaningful (which is meaningful this time as explained above), it causes major changes. So Society should prepare itself for some major changes, Ketu represents endings and some fresh beginnings. So, we should treat this sudden change as an opportunity for some new beginnings. All the best.

Ketu is a planet which acts in a mysterious fashion and often signifies Conspiracies. It also signifies strange illness, and the World is witnessing such illness in the form of Corona. The Good news is that this time Ketu is in for around 5 odd months, and we are already in the 4^th month. Ketu will then be replaced by Venus which will bring some respite. Ketu signifies endings and new beginnings, and does big damage in a short time period. So though this Sookshamdasha of Ketu will be over in a couple of Months, healing and rebuilding process will take some time. We are likely to face Economic recession, but not Economic Depression.

As I mentioned earlier in the article, Ketu also signifies conspiracies. A typical feature of Ketu is that the source of such conspiracies is often not found. Corona definitely is a Conspiracy, and this may also be a trailer of new age Biological Warfare. Luckily, this time, it won’t last long. But can Astrology throw some hint on the source of Conspiracy? I applied a few analysis and checks, and there were repeated hints towards China and North Korea. But a typical feature of Ketu is that the World will always be double minded about exact source of Conspiracy.

What’s the bad news? The bad news is that our World will be under Ketu’s Antardasha in Mercury’s Mahadasha beginning in 2030’s, and the impact will be felt for 15 odd years. The whole World is likely to be in a State of Confusion during this period. Rahu and Ketu always bring some big changes in the World order. First and Second World Wars were fought during Rahu’s Antardasha in Saturn’s Mahadasha, and the great depression of 1929 also took place during this period. I predict the next Economic depression in 2030’s. May Lord Ganesha bless our World during those times.

Fasting is wilful abstinence or limitation of food, drink or certain activities for a certain period of time. When we recommend fasting for astrological remedies, it includes adding or restricting certain actions or activities which help in nullifying or reducing bad impacts from a planet. Every planet has a unique role to play in a person’s life.  For instance, Mars is for motivation, Saturn is for action on that motivation, Jupiter is for formal learning and application of resources, Mercury is for application of formal learning, Moon is for personality and mind management, Sun is for provision of resources, Venus is for Personal Branding and comforts, Rahu is for non-traditional thinking, and Ketu is for spiritual aspects as well as putting breaks on non-traditional thinking. These are some of the important roles. When we construct Balance Sheets of individual horoscopes, we clearly define the above mentioned roles with respect to the profession or business of a person. We also clearly identify the problem areas and define these problem areas further in terms of certain Do’s and Don’ts. Fasting in astrology is about strengthening the Do’s and abstaining from the Don’ts through some series of activities designed for individual Horoscopes. Another important point to note is that astrological fasting and religious fasting can take place on a parallel basis. Meaning of this is that while you can follow the procedures recommended for religious fasting let’s say for Thursday (Jupiter), you will have to (in addition) follow those recommended Do’s and Don’ts for creating astrological advantages.

Another important aspect of astrological fasting is that it should be done for a specific astrological purpose, one at a time. Once that purpose is achieved, astrological fasting should be done for the next objective. For example, if it has been found from the Astrological Balance Sheet that a person needs to correct three different aspects related to Saturn to excel in his life and profession, the correct way is to first clearly define the urgency of each aspect (with most urgent aspect getting first priority). Next step is to define the correction required in Objective terms, and this should be followed by adopting the action plan to be adopted on the fasting day to achieve such objectives.

One more input before I wrap up this article. Sometimes, the key to astrological management lies with a different planet. For instance, if the reason for non-action or bad impacts in Saturn’s Mahadasha is because of bad placement of Mars, fasting will be recommended for Tuesdays and not Saturdays because unless Mars is rectified, Saturn won’t give positive results or full benefits.

The above argument gives rise to a question, how can predictions be made on the basis of Birth Horoscope when the actual results may be dependent on number of dynamic factors described above? The answer to this question is Societal Horoscope. I have described in many of my previous posts about Horoscopes of various Careers and Businesses, Horoscopes of various cities, Horoscopes on various Societies and Horoscopes of various Communities. For instance, Banking careers have Jupiter as Ascendant Lord. New Delhi is having Capricorn Ascendant; Solar Power business is having Leo Ascendant. Indian Society is having Jupiter as Ascendant Lord, Bania Caste is having Mercury as Ascendant Lord, and Punjabi Community has Aries Ascendant. Societal Horoscope of a person is based on all the above factors.

A clarification here is that like Birth Horoscope, Societal Horoscope is also a unique chart for an individual. Two people living in the same society and circumstances will have different Societal Horoscopes because their individual approach to external environment is unique. We construct Individual Societal Horoscopes by first constructing the Balance Sheet of the Birth Chart, and then making adjustments for all the factors mentioned earlier in this document.

How does Societal Horoscope Impact a person? It can be logically inferred from the above arguments that a Man is split between two forces, his Basic Instincts (ruled by his Birth Horoscope) and Societal Instincts (Based on his Social Horoscope). The problem arises when there is a big divergence between an individual’s Birth Horoscope and the Social Horoscope. The Key to leading a happy and prosperous life is to manage those time periods where divergence levels are likely to be above a particular threshold limit. How does one know the time periods when divergence levels are likely to be above threshold limit? Those who follow Astrology know that an Individual’s lifespan is divided into various Mahadashas, Antardashas and Pratyantardashas. When we match the two, divergence periods can clearly be known.

Rajasthan means Land of Kings. Sun is the King in Management Astrology and number 1 represents Sun. Rajasthani Community is primarily ruled by Sun. Sun also represents Boss in Management Astrology. How would you react/interpret if your Boss starts wearing a Pink Suit in his official meetings? An interesting observation is that if you add Rajasthan numerically, the number is 92, which when further added gives master number 11. Here lies the dilemma. Number 11 means double impact of Sun (1+1, King, Ego, and Source of Wealth) to give the net resultant Moon (represented by Number 2 (1+1), Emotions and their impact on Personality). Number 11 imparts dual personality to Rajasthani Community. On one hand, you will observe Extreme Royal Masculine ego represented by double Sun, and at the same time you will observe humble hospitality represented by feminine Moon. Thus, while Halla Bol, the slogan of Rajasthan Royals represents Double Sun, Padharo Mhare Desh of Rajasthan Tourism represents Moon. The community as a whole is often split between Sun (Masculine) and Moon (Feminine), thus causing confusion.

Jaipur is known as Pink City, and that primarily was the reason to change the Jersey Colour. Management Astrology interprets it as the continuation of dual personality dilemma of Rajasthani Community. Halla Bol (Masculine) is right, Team’s mascot Moochu Singh (Lion, Masculine, represented by Singh/LEO/Sun) is right, but Jersey Colour Pink (Feminine) is wrong. I agree that Pink emotionally unites Rajasthani Community because of Pink Jaipur, Pink Sandstone, Pink Embroidery, Pink Turbans and Pink Marble. However, did we see the liberal use of Pink in flags of several Princely states of Rajasthan? And particularly, does one use Pink in War? Cricket is a masculine game and involves aggression. Modern day cricket is no less than war. Liberal use of Pink by Rajasthan Royals clearly shows dual personality dilemma in their approach. I’m not discussing the similar dilemma in their cricketing approach/strategy here as my message may be lost in the lengthy analysis. Masculine colours like Orange/ Red are best suited for this Team.

P.S: It’s worthwhile to add here that this article only intends to highlight a flaw in overall strategy of Rajasthan Royals. The community as a whole knows how to overcome this dilemma, which makes this community a great community.

There are certain Professions which require some Routine activities to be repeated time and again. Some examples are Chartered Accountancy, Manufacturing, and most of the Office related Jobs. Saturn rules these Professions as they require persistent repetition of a Routine. The task of a Management Astrologer for such Professions is to control Moon, and to Strengthen Saturn in a person’s Personal Horoscope.

All the Creative Professions like Art, Fiction Writing, and Poet are ruled by Moon. A Strong Saturn in such Charts, or a Major Period or Sub-Period of Saturn will kill creativity. Whenever you see a Creative Person’s inability to produce novelty elements in his work or performance, or a high element of boring repetition, you can safely infer that his Saturn needs to be managed and his Moon needs to be strengthened.

There are many Professions which are In-Between, i.e. which require a certain level of balance between Moon and Saturn. Trading in Stock Market is one such Profession. Every moment or event in Stock Market creates a new situation (both Positive and Negative), and prompts a person to interpret that situation in terms of either greed or fear. This interpretation is ruled by Moon, and that’s why you see different people interpreting the same situation in different ways. Trading in Stock Market requires quick interpretation of Situations, and a Strong Moon accompanied by previous experience (ruled by Saturn) develops a workable gut feeling in a person. Trading in Stock Market also requires that a person should remain Calm under all Situations. While a wavering Moon would never let a person to get into a groove, an Emotionless and Suspicious Saturn would never let a Trader take a trade. If a Stock Market Trader persistently says that “I’m waiting for the right Opportunity to Enter”, the clear interpretation is that his Saturn needs some good amount of Work. Similarly, if you see a Trader frequently changing his trades, his Moon needs some counseling.

Unfortunately, the present times requires a person to perform many dynamic roles at the same time. Thus, Importance of Moon in a Horoscope increases manifolds. Most of the times, it is not the dreaded Saturn, but the Moon which needs persistent management. Since the Planetary position keeps changing, and the external environment is fast changing, the interpretation of both Moon and Saturn also changes frequently. This is the single largest reason for unhappiness in our lives.

What should be done to overcome this? We prepare short term customized action plans based on one’s Personal Horoscope, his Profession, his External Environment, his Previous Experience as well as his ability to interpret and handle different situations, his Physical resources, and his Personality. 1. It’s an era of technology, and every Astrologer either has his own website, or has a presence through Social media. Read their posts regarding Gemstones. You will be shocked to find that almost every Astrologer has his own version of Gemology. A principal of Gemology which is good for a particular Astrologer is criticized by the other. When they themselves are unsure about the exact impact of Gems, the probability is that some may be right and some may be wrong. But try reading the posts of leading Astrologers and not the Novices. Even they differ in their interpretation. If there are so many dilemmas, how can you try risking your Career/ Health based on this uncertainty?
2. Can a Gemstone create an irreversible impact on your health? There is no mechanism to measure what slow chemical changes take place in your body after you wear a Gemstone. Even medical tests can’t measure the impacts at an early stage. Gemstones have the Power to impact the chemical balance of your body. If worn for your career, they may impact your health. If worn for a particular disease, it may treat that disease, but how can you be sure that it is not sowing seeds for another disease. The logic is simple. You take a medicine for Blood pressure, and it may treat your Blood Pressure. But is it detrimental for your kidneys? Fortunately, medical science works through diagnosis, and Doctors recommend medical tests before prescribing a medicine. Do Astrologers have the capability to measure each and every chemical change in your body resulting from a Gemstone? The impact may not be visible immediately as Chemical reactions in the body slowly take the shape of a demon. Decide yourself as it may be more a question of belief. But if you believe in Science and Logic, don’t let your Astrologer play with your health.
3. Do the Astrologers have an ulterior motive in selling Gemstones to you? My answer is through a Counter question. Do you know a Jeweller who can share his secrets with you? If yes, just ask him how much commission he pays to the Astrologers. Almost every Jeweller who sells Gemstones has an under the table arrangement with the Astrologers of his locality. In many cases, this arrangement is through Jeweller’s associations. That’s the Business model of both Astrologers and Jewellers. Most of the Astrologers won’t charge from you upfront, but will try to earn from you through Gemstones and illogical remedies. Can this lead to a Gemstone in your finger whether it suits you or not? Think about it.
4. Gemstones can have detrimental impact on your career also. Every planet in your horoscope is meant to play a unique role in your life/ career/ business. Altering the strength of one planet can have a detrimental impact on the other planet. For instance, Saturn is an emotionless planet while Moon is the planet which controls your mind and hence your emotions. Creativity also comes through emotions. What happens when your whole career is based on creativity, and your Astrologer recommends a Gemstone which strengthens your Saturn? Does your astrologer consider the Horoscope of your Career/ Business/ Profession before recommending a Gemstone to you? And in management language, is he aware about Job Description of the post you are holding?
5. Continuing with point 4, such kind of alterations can have a bad impact on your personal relationships also. You may not be even aware about this aspect. Gemstones may even change the Love equation between Husband and Wife. Isn’t this Serious? Can your Astrologer tell you the quantum of change in relationship equations?

In nutshell, Gemstones can have both negative and positive impacts, and there is no mechanism to measure the exact negative impacts of a Gemstone. Even the most qualified Astrologer can’t give a logical answer to this. My purpose of writing this Blog Post is to make you aware that you should always do a reality check of your beliefs and traditions before playing with the important aspects like Health/ Career/Relationships.

The remedy lies in Maslow’s need hierarchy theory, which is also supported by logic from Numerology. Before moving ahead on this, let’s understand logically the reason behind such tendencies. Ketu Mahadasha or Antardasha is preceded by Mercury’s and succeeded by Venus’s Mahadasha/ Antardasha. Mercury is materialism and Practicality, and last stage of this Mahadasha/ Antardasha belongs to Saturn. Those who understand Astrology will understand the tendency of Saturn to take the situations to a large scale. In Management terms, excess of everything is bad. Thus, when materialism and practicality reach enormous proportions, the natural tendency of a human being is to take a step back (the quantum of this step back varies from person to person). This step back is dangerous if the quantum is big, happens early in your life when you are yet to achieve your material goals. Important to note is that Ketu’s Mahadasha/ Antardasha is succeeded by Venus which will again take you towards materialism. Thus, if you treat Ketu as a temporary pause, and manage it well, you are ready to enjoy comforts of life during Venus’s Mahadasha/ Antardasha. If it is a bigger pause, and results in material detachment, you struggle during Venus’s Mahadasha/ Antardasha.

If you have studied Management or Psychology, you must have heard about Maslow’s need Hierarchy theory. For those who are unaware, Abraham Maslow proposed a Theory of Motivation in 1943, which describes how a Human grows and gets motivated in his life to achieve various needs. He describes various levels of needs, starting with Physiological needs like food, shelter, sleep, clothing, and physical desires. Physiological needs form the basic level of need hierarchy. In Astrology, these needs are represented by Venus. Next in the level of needs is Safety needs, then Love/ Belongingness, Self-Esteem, Self-Actualization, and then on the top is Self-transcendence (added in the later years). Self-Transcendence means devoting one’s life towards selfless concern and spiritualism. In Hindu Religion, Self-Transcendence is known as the Journey towards Moksha. In pure management terms, Moksha is when you start feeling that you have achieved every Goal in your life. And interestingly, in Astrology, Ketu leads you towards Moksha. Now let’s come back again to Mahadasha/ Antardasha. In Vedic Astrology, Vishmottri Dasha (cycle of Mahadasha’s in a set Chronology) starts with Ketu and ends at Mercury, which doesn’t necessarily mean the end of life, but start of a new cycle. And important to note is that Moksha is nothing but highest state of mind and Self-transcendence is also the highest state of mind. Even more interesting is that Ketu in Astrology is not a real planet, but an imaginary planet, which again indicates towards State of Mind.  My question is how is the chronology of Vishmottri Dasha similar to the chronology of Maslow’s need hierarchy theory? Just for the information of the readers, the Chronology of Vishmottri Mahadashas is Ketu, Venus, Sun, Moon, Mars, Rahu, Jupiter, Saturn, and Mercury, and this chronology has a direct co-relation with the chronology of needs mentioned in Maslow’s need hierarchy (will discuss this in detail through a separate Blog-Post. I have mentioned a small bit in my previous posts). Then a new cycle starts again with Ketu. Does it prove the scientific basis of Astrological Calculations?

The real problem starts when Mahadasha of Ketu falls right in the middle of our productive years. And why Mahadasha, we all go through Antardasha and Pratyantar Dasha of Ketu several times in our life. And icing on the Cake is present Mahadasha of Mercury in our society which denotes rapid ups and downs. In Management terms, Ketu is said to impact your life when you start shifting your life goals from materialism towards spiritualism. Have you heard the famous dialogue in Indian Society “Sab Moh Maya Hai”? If this dialogue starts attracting you in the middle of your productive years, it’s high time that you start managing your Ketu. And how does one do it? Since Ketu denotes end of a cycle and beginning of a new cycle (Transition period), the answer lies in again starting with the basic needs mentioned in Maslow’s need hierarchy theory like love for an even better house, love for even better clothing and so on. Never let Ketu de-motivate you. Important to remember is that Ketu is again followed by Venus, which will necessarily take you back again into the material world. And if you waste those precious years of Ketu, you will have to repent in Venus’s period. Ketu’s purpose is only to give you a reality check, to put a little break to materialism so that you can set higher material goals in life.

Now a little bit of Numerology. Ketu is denoted by number 7. The Physiological needs I mentioned above are represented by Venus and the number is 6. The idea is to add Venus to Ketu, and the equation is

7+6 = 13 which when further added gives Number 4. Rahu denotes number 4 which means an extreme form of materialism. So, an effective way to manage our Ketu is to keep us motivated towards materialism by setting higher materialistic Goals. If you really want to retire from your life, then that’s a separate issue.

The real issue with Ketu is that the person undergoing Ketu is usually unaware of these symptoms. That’s why we through Management Astrology forewarn a person and his family well in advance about the periods which may lead to such kind of behavior. We also look at the horoscopes of Businesses/ Professions/ Careers in general to predict such kind of similar behaviors on mass scale. For instance, Ketu represents the decline stage of Product Life cycle. If a Product is approaching the decline stage, we look for remedies for Ketu not only for that product, but also for the humans associated with that product. It is different from Ketu in Individual horoscopes, and unfortunately Traditional Astrology has no clue of such kind of modern concepts.

So the literal meaning of the idol described in first paragraph is that our formal knowledge/ communication should always be in harmony with our intellect, and should always be directed towards a Goal. That’s how we achieve good fortunes and prosperity in our Life/Career/Business. So the equation is:

Goddess Saraswati (Formal Knowledge, Communication) + Ganesh Ji (Intellect, Application of Knowledge) = Goddess Lakshmi (Achievement of our Goals in Life, Good Fortune, Prosperity).

Since the Size of Goddess Saraswati and  Ganesh Ji in the Idol is almost the same, both these components should be present in same proportion for steady path towards achieving Goals.

Have you heard about the Principal of KISS in Management? KISS is an acronym for Keep It Simple Stupid, which states that most systems work well if they are kept simple. Now I’ll give a very small dose of Management Astrology which is simple, Laksh (Goal) oriented, and not complicated like Traditional Astrology. Did you know that like our society, there is a caste system in Astrology? And did you know that you are being fooled by Traditional Astrologers?  Let me explain it through the concept of debilitation in Astrology. Debilitation means weakness. According to traditional Astrology, Jupiter belongs to Brahmin caste while Saturn belongs to Shudra Caste. Interestingly, Jupiter becomes debilitated in the sign Capricorn, which belongs to Saturn. I read many explanations in Astrological Books for Jupiter’s debilitation. One significant reason mentioned in almost every book and almost every astrological theory is that Jupiter is benevolent and spiritualistic, and Saturn makes it too practical and materialistic. Is being materialistic and practical wrong? And if being materialistic and practical is right, is there some basic defect in the analysis by traditional astrologers?

Now, the Brahminwaad theory. The main role of Jupiter in traditional Astrology is Education and Knowledge. Jupiter is a preacher. Saturn is a Shudra, and thus its role is service, and also to practice what is being preached. So, can we conclude that Jupiter is debilitated in Capricorn, the Saturn’s sign, because it has to himself practice what he is preaching? There are many definitions of Brahminwaad, and one of them is to preach and to guide others to follow what you are preaching. What happens when we preach only and don’t practice what we are preaching? People will stop taking us seriously. Every Individual follows Brahminwaad when he doesn’t practice what he preaches.  Jupiter is also linked with fat and obesity.
